That dispatcher deserves to be taken out behind the shed and beaten within an inch of his or her life for calling that call a non-emergency.
Ideally, the family and friends would have front-row seats in the public square at the horse-whipping. Now, I'm not up to date on how many lashes would be sufficient, but at least forty-eight should be delivered, and then a swift dunking in a barrel of salt-water.
Now, I recognize that it makes the average voter squeamish, so it'd never get the social approval it deserves. That said, if that dispatcher suddenly went missing, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

(1) Tell me again why people have no right to defend themselves? The police will protect them? Bwahahahahaha!
(2) Wonder what kind of reception said fiance was treated to when said coppers finally showed up on the scene.
Yeah, I've been suffering from allergies the last week or so. Claritin-D seems to be taking care of it, though.
I'm reading a book called "Everything I Want to Do Is Illegal: War Stories from the Local Food Front". The Amish have valid complaints, and it frosts my rear to even think that someone else is subjected to this crap, but the regulatory pompousness chronicled in that book blows this away. Either way, too many make a living causing problems for others in an official capacity. I will not be genuflecting, and they can expect to hear something akin to "You're leaving, sir. Bye!"
As for the tragedy with the young lady, any edict that prevents one from defending life, liberty or property is null and void out of the gate. Suffice to say, I don't dial '911', and I'm pretty handy with cleaning supplies, paint, and a shovel, should it come to that... Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.
I don't imagine the fiancée enjoyed a presumption of innocence at the hands of the police.
