Marriage-Material

Rukhsana Kauser took an axe, gave the goblin forty whacks...
An Indian farmer’s daughter disarmed a terrorist leader who broke into her home, attacked him with an axe and shot him dead with his own gun.

Rukhsana Kausar, 21, was with her parents and brother in Jammu and Kashmir when three gunmen, believed to be Pakistani militants, forced their way in and demanded food and beds for the night...

His daughter was hiding under a bed when she heard him crying as the gunmen thrashed him with sticks. According to police, she ran towards her father’s attacker and struck him with an axe. As he collapsed, she snatched his AK47 and shot him dead.

She also shot and wounded another militant as he made his escape.
I sincerely hope that she kept the AK-47 as a trophy (fair game; you keep what you kill) and that the other villagers have taken note of the example set by Ms. Kausar. I suspect that following this incident (were she so inclined), she would have her pick of bridegrooms, all things being equal.

As Ms. Kausar discovered, it follows that only reasonable people may be reasoned with; thieves-in-the-night subscribe to not reason, but force, and must be met in kind.

All things being equal, if she can't get her pick there, she can bring this story with her to the South and get her pick of husbands. She looks pretty good in the picture that the Telegraph has of her.

She should offer the AK-47 as a dowry. Suitors will be knocking down her door.

Some women have it all. Nothing would make me happier than knowing if I am gone, the wife knows what to do and can and will do it. Uhrm, that might even keep me a little more in line. *grins* And, ten to one, she isn't a feminist at all!

The rather uncommon courage and logic exhibited by Ms. Kausar leads me to posit the following regarding her thought-process during the incident:

- The government-sponsored police, in whatever incarnation they happen to appear in, are not going to arrive in time to save you.

- Hiding under the bed won't save your family, and it isn't the most original place to hide, either.

- An axe is okay, but an AK-47 is better; using either with the element of surprise is best, especially as a woman bringing an axe to a gun-fight with terrorists.

I think you're being generous at 10:1, Doom.

Also, I wonder what the relative value of that AK-47 is in her region... That might help separate the two-goat bridegrooms from the five-goat bridegrooms.

There is something uniquely terrifying about a bladed weapon. Psyche studies show that a blade seizes us up more so than a gun because we are all so familiar with blades and the pain they can cause, whereas most people haven't ever been shot... Its the reason that bayonet charges are so effective.
