Sublimity
Now, this might be coming from a biased position, as I already love Corelli, but this particular concerto stirs something deep within my soul.
Incidentally, in comparison to other cultures, this is merely one of the areas where Western Civilization shines brighter than a thousand suns. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, Corelli, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Debussy, Handel, Strauss, Liszt, Vivaldi, Verdi...

That was absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.
I'm glad you liked it; I may make a habit of it so that pieces like this get the exposure that they deserve.
Besides, it's proof that even an irascible grump can post something beautiful once in a while for little or no reason.
Of all those names, I can't believe you didn't mention my personal favourite: Wagner.
Siegfried's Funeral Music is not only awesome, but was used extensively in the movie Excalibur to great effect.
And here's the Pilgrim's Chorus from Tannhauser. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir does an English version of this here.
Both pieces start off quietly, so be sure to crank up the volume for the full effect.

Hah, I knew, knew that I would step on someone's toes here by omitting names from the list; Wagner definitely deserves a spot up there.
Speaking of Excalibur, I also slighted Carl Orff. On the bright side, at least we have names to omit from the list!
