Change au jus

In which Chef Obama and his sous-minions serve up a heaping platter of "Bait-and-Switch Surprise":
The Obama administration fell in line with the Bush administration Thursday when it urged a federal judge to set aside a ruling in a closely watched spy case weighing whether a U.S. president may bypass Congress and establish a program of eavesdropping on Americans without warrants...

The Obama administration is also siding with the former administration in its legal defense of July legislation that immunizes the nation's telecommunications companies from lawsuits accusing them of complicitity in Bush's eavesdropping program, according to testimony last week by incoming Attorney General Eric Holder.

That immunity legislation, which Obama voted for when he was a U.S. senator from Illinois, was included in a broader spy package that granted the government wide-ranging, warrantless eavesdropping powers on Americans' electronic communications.
The commentary pretty well writes itself here. Perhaps if the Left looks suitably pathetic, Obama will throw them a towel to clean up with, and throw in a few bucks for a cab-ride home.

Don't worry, he still respects you, and he'll call you later.

I saw this one coming. The moment that he cast his lot in with the supporters of the FISA amendment it was obvious where he stands on this.

plus la change, plus c'est la meme chose (my paris-talk sux, sorry)

Really, the only thing that has changed is that we've gone from a center-right imperial presidency to a left-wing one.

And I hope our society is judged harshly for it's self-serving culture o death.

The only thing that article lacked was quotes from the discarded trollop. But I suspect there will be plenty of those available over the next x years.

That and screams from conservatives who are oh-so-surprised when such executive branch power is turned on them.

Yes, and the problem is that they persist in doing so.

"Liesses"... Those nasty hobbitses!

There's little doubt in my mind that we'll be judged harshly by history. The prevailing majority view, no matter how idiotic, sets the policy, and the majority wants easy money, bread and circuses.

The conservative wing of the Fascist party can have a good cry over some Ben & Jerry's if they need it. He is the lesser of the chosen evils, after all.
