These might be the droids you're looking for

I'm sure they're nice people and all, but assurances do not a legal document make:
State officials say there’s no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.

Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino says she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama’s original birth certificate.

... She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest in it.

I believe applying for a job as the President of the United States both gives any arbitrary voter reason to claim "tangible interest", as per Berg's case, and raises additional questions about how Obama obtained his current occupational position without said verification.

They're talking, but all I'm hearing is, "Stand aside, plebeians! We are on Imperial business!"

Feral,

Marky Mark linked to this post regarding Obama's heritage and history.

Don't know how true it is, but the MSM doesn't seem too interested in vetting the legitimacy of their own anointed candidate for president, one way or the other.

Obi-wan / Obama campaign: *waives hand dismissively* "He can go about his business"

Stormtrooper / Allegedly Fierce MSM: "You can go about your business"

Obi-wan / Obama campaign: *makes more hand-waving motions* "Move along"

Stormtrooper / Allegedly Fierce MSM: "Move along! Move along!"

That's quite a list of admissions.

The only reason I can think of for this to be a non-issue amongst semi-aware voters and the MSM is that the active supporters of a super-governmental authority see this as a step towards bringing the United States into the fold, as it were.

"The concept of loyalty is an outmoded social construct, and clearly the world would be better served by a single government so that all may be equal! Equal, equal, equal! No discrimination, no arguing, no war, blah, blah, baaah..."

Or maybe it's just so Obama can pay the mortgage and keep the car gassed up. One thing's for certain, we'll get the leader we deserve.

"The concept of loyalty is an outmoded social construct"

I saw this in the last book I just got done reading...the notion is that the nation-state is dangerous to the human race, thus loyalties to nation-states are also dangerous.

How loyalties to a tribe--which is precisely what drives 4GW--are any less dangerous, wasn't discussed, tho.

A superior civilization/ideology will carve it's name into Equalitarianism's corpse. A society founded upon a mass delusion cannot persist.

Any attempts to break the tribalistic instinct are doomed to fail. A clan-type unit is already a fundamental problem to those seeking to establish a theoretically-absolute egalitarian society, and short of test-tube breeding, a familial bond will exist at some level. So, as you say, the proponents are massively delusional.

I believe the existence of the State is a threat to the human race as it exists and operates today. It functions as something theoretically more righteous than its constituent members, which seems like a Divine Right hold-over rather than a logical interpretation of the nation's founding principles (yet another reason I agitate Marxist ideologues and UN-supporters at every opportunity).

... This brings up something that's been on my mind for a while: does a physical upper-limit exist regarding the size of a stable nation-state, as a function of territory and population? (Hypothesis: Yes, as a soft limit, subject to dissemination of trade, language, information, geographical barriers, and a few other factors I'm mulling over.)
