I'm not kidding about that "United Kingdom" tag for this blog.
- UK is now 'almost the worst area to live in Europe'.
- "The civil enforcement officer who made the error was the only one offered the extra training."
- "Cops may get three hours to respond to 999s..."
What, precisely, is going to have to happen over there for the people to wake up? (Feel free to speculate.)

The UK is the classic boiling frog syndrome. They won't know they're in real trouble until after it's too late.
The articles you cite show that they're still focused on symptoms, rather than the cause. High cost of living. Bad weather. Low levels of gummint spending on health and entitlements. Stupid cops.
What they should be focused on are the fundamental indicators of societal health, and those are going to hell in a handbasket. Liberty. Minarchism. The natural right to self defense. A belief in the superiority of British culture. Family formation and stability. A culture that values life, not death.
I say they'll come to their senses when the Religion of Peace achieves demographic parity and starts foisting sharia on the dhimmis. But by then they may be to stupified to know it. And it will be too late.
Before the Crusades, the Arabs said that the further north you went in Europe, the dumber the population became.
Maybe they were right after all?
I think you hit the nail on the head; Britain is trying so hard to stitch-up the culture in a shroud of totalitarianism that they're ignoring that there isn't anything left to stitch.

This might alarm more than a few of those outside London proper, but I'll lay down a prediction for a proportionally-higher representation of quislings inside the city limits.
I think the Scots, Welsh and Irish may have just been handed retribution or damnation, depending on how they handle it... The former will have a more difficult time with it, as Ireland still has the benefit of physical separation.
There's no doubt in my mind that socialism and feminism has doomed the British. I'd like to think that America still retains enough of the fire, grit and common sense to resist this sort of thing from gaining ground here.
I'll have to develop this thought on urban social disease and major population centers as the primary vectors for this behavior.
